Art Education
I love teaching art and guiding students through its processes. Whether it’s printmaking, watercolour, acrylic or mixed media — it’s always a joy to see what we are capable of when we really let loose.
When teaching children, I marvel at how free and at home they are in their own work. They create with abandon and encourage each other endlessly. They’re not afraid to get messy or weird and allow themselves the space to just make, make, make.
For many adults there is an internal dialogue telling you art isn’t for you and you don’t know where to even begin — I love watching people throw that away. We are able to cultivate the freedom we had as children and make beautiful pieces to hang at home or to gift to family or friends.
Regardless of who or where I teach, I love reminding us all that art is whatever you want it to be. There is no good or bad, there is just discovery, joy and a little (or a lot of) fun.

Nancy is a gifted artist and teacher. You can expect a friendly dynamic where you'll learn different techniques, have time to experiment, you might touch in on some art history and playfully refine and /or find your own style. What I love the most about Nancy as a teacher is that I laugh often, classes are fast-paced and vibrant, and I feel very safe and accepted. I don't have to be perfect, and yet I sense so much space to expand and grow in my craft. I have completed one class and can't wait for the next one!

We booked Nancy for a team building workshop for a U9 Girls Hockey Team around the holidays and the girls had such a great time, we booked her for another workshop in the spring. One was printmaking, one was watercolour. They were both a HUGE hit with the girls. We couldn’t be happier with how easy, fun and all around spectacular Nancy’s workshop was. She held their attention, was kind, encouraging and enthusiastic. All the parents agreed it was the best hockey team building their kids had ever attended. 10/10 recommend!

I had a wonderful experience taking Nancy's watercolour class online. She has a warm and energetic presence which made classes fun and engaging (despite us not being in the same city!) Her emails prior to the class helped me to prepare and feel welcome. I found the pace was perfect for my skills, and the activities and prompts were unique and aligned with my interests in painting. I am so happy with some of the pieces I created. This class was by far the best thing I did for myself during the pandemic — and I am so happy to have met Nancy!
